Downtown Issaquah is Amply Apple-icious

Downtown Issaquah Association’s 10th annual Issaquah Goes Apples celebrates the harvest season in historic Olde Town with a variety of family-friendly activities throughout October.

Reprising their roles will be Farm Fresh Market, Historically Hip Artisan Market (HHAM), an apple cider press, scarecrow building, art experiences, seasonal photo opportunities, and live music at the annual community gathering on October 18 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Farm Fresh Market returns Oct. 11 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays through Dec. 6.

“Issaquah Goes Apples was conceived 10 years ago as a way to bring the community together in the Fall harvest,” said DIA President Christina Bruning. “It has flourished and become an economic boost for our small, family-owned businesses.”

Fall doesn't officially begin until the Autumnal Equinox, but the question trips off the tongues of locals: When is Issaquah Goes Apples? In this 10th year of the Fall favorite program, Apples will reign throughout October with celebrations of the harvest in Olde Town.

Apples began ten years ago when locals clamored for fresh produce and is a cherished community tradition. Created to bring neighbors together, Apples is a joyful gathering where friends reconnect, families make memories, and the spirit of downtown comes alive. It's also the kind of impetus small businesses downtown need to keep their doors open.

Festivities throughout the month:

  • Downtown restaurants create apple-inspired, artistic menus simply bursting with fresh harvest flavor. Tempt your taste buds as you try out all the sumptuous varieties. Stay tuned for more details about what's on the menu and where.
  • Issaquah Goes Apples community art program returns with much anticipation. Budding and experienced artists alike are invited to submit original apple-themed artwork for display and judging by October 11th. Entries will be featured in downtown storefronts and public spaces, bringing seasonal color and community creativity to Historic Downtown.
  • Scarecrows on Front returns! Participants unmask their inner creativity as they design and build a scarecrow. Supplies are available at Grange Supply Oct. 4-17. All entries should include an Apple and are to be dropped off at the Historic Shell Station by October 17. Get All the Details Here.
  • Ayala Farms will be at Historic Shell October 11 through Dec. 6, with a bounty of Farm Fresh produce from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays.
